Welcome to my website. My name is Stephen Barton, after serving in the US Army as an Infantry Medical Specialist from 1993-1998 I decided to get involved in real estate. I started as a contractor working for a house flipper in Northeast Indiana. I experienced back issues throughout the years in construction and in 2002 I decided to go to a doctor to get my back examined. Doctors discovered I have a herniated disc and bulged discs in my lower back. Several specialists explained the type of work I was doing was making this situation worse. So, in 2012 I decided to go back to school at Ivy Tech where I made the Dean's List in Business Management. On my way to class, I heard a radio advertisement about investing in real estate and the 9th caller on the radio show would win free tickets to attend this seminar. That phone call literally changed my life. I decided to take the plunge and with only $2,000 I decided to become a real estate investor by flipping homes in the Indianapolis and surrounding areas.
Today, I have built a small rental portfolio and I am seeing the benefits that real estate can bring. I have worked well over 200 transactions just in the last 3 years. My most notable transaction was helping a small investment company sell over $1 Million in real estate in two transactions involving 17 homes. I have even purchased a home in another state specifically to resell that home for profit. I have bought and sold 60 acres of land in southern Indiana and I have even helped sell a commercial property. I have helped save a couple from bankruptcy and foreclosure by purchasing three of their rental properties. Even to this day, they continue to express their gratitude for what I was able to help them with.
Buying or selling a home can be challenging without the right representation. You need someone whom you can trust and you need someone who has experience. My organizational skills along with my experience will help guide you through the complex world of buying or selling a home in Indiana. Unless you have a law degree I highly recommend you find someone who knows the laws pertaining to real estate in our great state. These laws are changing every day and having someone like me to help guide you through this process will prove to be priceless.
I am a member of the National Association of Realtors which means we are held to a much higher standard than just your typical real estate agent. The National Association of Realtors or NRA holds agents to an ethical standard unmatched in our industry. Being a part of Robert Haynes and Associates LLC further cements this standard by holding one another accountable and raising the standard for how agents conduct themselves. If you would like to learn more about what separates us from the rest of the agents in our area then feel free to give us a call or send us an email. We would love to chat with you!
